"None of us is as smart as all of us" - Ken Blanchard

I think that quote from author Ken Blanchard sums up the primary BENEFIT of being a member of a Mastermind Group very nicely.
>
Author Mitch Horowitz defines a mastermind group as... “an alliance of as few as two and as many as seven members who regularly assemble to support one another's aims, plans and ideas. The members exchange advice and counsel....the participants provide not only advice and ideas but also pool their intellects in a manner that heightens the abilities of all of them”
.
Several years ago I paid over $10,000 to be a member of one for a year so I really believe in the power of them to help you grow your business or improve any area of your life.
.
Another one cost me $1500 per year.
.
Unlike the $10K mastermind group I belonged to, this one won't require you to get on a plane to meet in person.
.
My mastermind groups will meet on the phone once per week for the rest of the year. Each call will last, at most, one hour.
.
The groups will start on Sunday, September 22nd and conclude the week of December 18th. At that point we'll decide what happens in 2020.
.
CBAQs
(could be asked questions)
Why is it called a Mastermind Group?
.
I think it was Napoleon Hill, in his book, Think and Grow Rich, who introduced the term “master mind”. This is his definition...
>
“The coordination of knowledge and effort of two or more people, who work toward a definite purpose, in the spirit of harmony.” No two minds ever come together without thereby creating a third, invisible intangible force, which may be likened to a third mind."
>
In that definition, the group is working toward one goal.
:
For our purposes, a mastermind group is about the members supporting and sharing with each other. They share their advice, ideas and feedback.
>
A mastermind is about each member describing their challenge and the rest of the group brainstorming solutions, setting goals and keeping each other accountable.
.
How will I benefit by participating in a mastermind group?
>
Of course, no one can know how anyone will benefit specifically but mastermind members tap into the wisdom of other people.
>
You've heard the expression, "out of the mouths of babes"?...well, compared to you, all the other members will be "babes" in your industry/profession.
>
They might ask you a simple question that no one in your business would think to ask and it could give you the idea that leads to a great result.
>
Several years ago my cousin Nancy was juggling two income streams and decided she would give up one, six months down the road.
>
I saw this juggling was causing her a lot of stress so I said..."why wait?...why not drop it now?"
>
For some reason she thought this was an excellent question and she did it.
>
I don't know where her six month idea came from but my simple question solved the problem for her.
>
As a mastermind member you'll get exposed to different perspectives and get the benefit of the diverse skills and experiences of other members.
>
I'm a constant reader on business and self-improvement. I've been to a ton of different types of seminars. If you have a marketing problem, I likely have an idea or four, for you.
>
I'm concerned I won't bring much to the table in terms of being able to help others.
>
I've heard that about you. HA! Just kidding.
>
As evidenced by my simple question to Nancy, you never know when a thought or idea of yours can be the answer to someone's problem. Be sincere in your desire to help and good things will happen.
>
.
Who should be in a mastermind group?
>
1. Salespeople
2. Small business owners
3. People who have an extra income stream they'd like to grow
4. People who have any goal they have a hard time sticking with
5. People who don't get support or encouragement from friends and family
6. Professionals in private practice...doctors, lawyers, chiropractors, accountants, etc.
7. Anyone who feels alone in striving to reach their goals.
.

>
You will choose a day and time that will work best for you every week from September 22nd to December 15th. Every week on that day and time you'll call in and participate in the Mastermind Group.

-If there is time at the end, if anyone needs more help it can be brought up then.
.
-During the week if you get an idea for a member, you should email them directly.

What happens if you don't get six members for each group?
,
Six is the maximum. We will be a go with even two people.

Top 10 Reasons To Join A Mastermind Group...
.
1. If at first you don't succeed, deny you were ever trying! - I only recently heard that saying but it's certainly been an M.O. of mine from time to time. A mastermind group will hold you accountable for the actions you want to (and should) be taking.
>
2. Six degrees of Kevin Bacon - MM groups are not about referrals or networking but it will happen. Other members will have skills and connections that can help you.
>
3. Support & Encouragement - Did you ever hear the definition of a consultant? Anyone 50 miles from home with a briefcase.
"
A mastermind group will give you the support and encouragement you might not be getting from home. Friends and families know a lot of what you've tried in the past. They know your hot buttons. Even good- natured ribbing or teasing can be discouraging.
.
4. To Challenge Yourself - Without the Facebook group I started in May there would have been NO WAY I would have stuck to my goal of getting 1000 rejections during the Summer. I didn't want to embarrass myself in front of them.
.
5. Brainstorming - Ask for ideas from other group members. Two heads are better than one!
>
6. Focus! - It's easy to get side-tracked. A MM group will keep you from chasing those butterflies. At least for the 13 weeks of this MM group, you'll be focused.
>
7. Confidence - Making a decision based on feedback from other group members can give you much greater confidence in that decision.
>
8. Different Perspectives - There are people who have already done what you want to do. They have a different perspective than you. A guy with 5 kids will have different parenting advice than someone with no kids.
>
9. Inspiration - Seeing and hearing about the success of others, particularly if you helped can be both inspiring and motivating.
.
10. Peace of mind - It's comforting to know that there is a group of people...even if it's only one or two, who have your best interest in mind and are there to provide support and encouragement.
