What is a
Wellness Crawl?
.
Think bar crawl but instead of alcohol and feeling awful the next day, think wellness related businesses providing FREE samples of their products and services and feeling great all day.
>
Here are the businesses we have participating so far...
.
Examples of wellness businesses are fitness studios like cycling, yoga, pilates, martial arts & kickboxing.
>
The usual wellness suspects like chiropractors, massage therapists, cosmetic dentists, physical therapists & acupuncturists.
.
Day spas, hair salons, tanning, health food stores, nail salons, yogurt & smoothie shops.
.
Oh...and CBD stuff. How could we forget CBD stuff?
>
Planning is underway for Clifton Park's first Wellness Crawl to be held on Saturday, April 25, 2020 from 10AM-2PM
>
Obviously, we've had to reschedule. Probably for some time in September. Please like our FB page for updates.
.
Participants will be given a map or directory of participating businesses where they can go to sample products and services.
.
Of course, we have a Facebook page to keep you informed of WHO is participating and what they are offering. (IG coming soon)
>
LIKES and SHARES are appreciated.

.
We also have an email list to keep you updated on what's happening with the Wellness Crawl.
>
If you don't own a wellness related business in Clifton Park but you're interested in being a participant, if you've liked and shared and/or joined the email list above you are done. You can leave now. You'll get notice of updates as we make them.
>
If you DO own a wellness related business in town and you think you'd like to participate, you can keep reading.
>
There will be no cost for either businesses or the general public to participate.
>
There are, however, three requirements for wellness related businesses who want to participate...
.
1)You have to have a physical business location in Clifton Park.
.
2)You have to provide a freebie for people who show up at your business on the day of the crawl.
.
3)You have to have a drawing to giveaway something with a value of at least $75. People will have to come to your establishment on the day of the crawl to enter.
>
Ideally, the freebie will be something related to your business that has real value.
>
Recognize, that you want people to actually show up to your place and engage with you. A 10% off coupon or a pen with your logo on it aren't going to inspire anyone.
>
The idea behind the big giveaway is to get the contact information of the people who have shown up and expressed an interest in your products or services.
>
After the wellness crawl is over you'll have a valuable database you can market to in the future..."sorry you didn't win the big prize but you still win with our second chance offer...etc. etc. etc."
>
If you normally give classes in your business you should strongly consider offering free classes on the day of the crawl.
:
They can be shortened versions of normal classes and people should be asked to register for those classes ahead of time so you don't have too many participants.
>
Obviously, by offering free classes you'll be building a database of people who are willing to put on exercise clothes and get sweaty to improve their wellness and to you THAT is a particularly valuable list. Those type people aren't very common and you need to keep track of them!
.
WHAT IF I HAVE A "WELLNESS" BUSINESS BUT I DON'T HAVE A PHYSICAL LOCATION?
>
Good question. At the moment we don't have a definitive answer for you but we have an idea.
>
Do you know any Clifton Park business owners who do have physical locations?
>
Do they have space they could let you use on the day of the Crawl?
>
Technically, they wouldn't even have to be wellness related and they might let you use their space because you'll be promoting them and their location in the ramp up to the Crawl.
>
If we come across any businesses with space to use, we'll let you know, in the meantime think about who you know.
>
Be sure to join our email list above to be kept informed of any developments.
>
OTHER THAN THE FREEBIES AND THE BIG GIVEAWAY ARE THERE OTHER EXPECTATIONS OF THE VENDORS?
.
Technically NO. Have your freebies and giveaway drawing all set on the day of the crawl. Have your doors open and be ready to see people at the right time and you'll be good to go.
.
BUT and this is a BIG but, it's in your best interest to be as active as possible in promoting this event on your social media channels and in your business.
>
It's likely there will be competitors of yours participating in the Crawl so you don't want them to have all the fun and get all the visitors because they were better promoters.
>
We'll provide lots of materials you can use to promote your business but you'll want to come up with your own ideas too.
.
If you will be offering classes on the day of the Crawl you can use social media to build up the tension about registering soon.
.
Seen enough?

>
It's not necessary for you to have your freebie and big giveaway decided on yet. We have some time.
.
WHO IS ORGANIZING THIS?
>
You can probably guess it's not being organized by anyone who knows how to make fancy looking web pages, that's for sure.
>
Local Marketing Strategist and small business supporter, Leo Quinn got this idea from a similar event in Hoboken, NJ and decided it would be a great thing to help businesses in the Capital District.
>
In 2012 he organized a Cash Mob in Ballston Spa...
The only problem with a Cash Mob is that only one business really benefits in the end.
>
In a Wellness Crawl ALL businesses benefit.
>
>
He has a website where he lists birthday deals you can get from area businesses. 518BirthdayClub.com is here.
>
He also supports small businesses with his Find-A-Twenty Facebook page. He hides $20 bills in the area around small businesses in the hope that the $20s will be used in those businesses.
>
>
>
>
>
So that's your organizer.
>
If you happen to see him in the wild, feel free to approach him but don't mention the hair situation. He's hanging on as best as he can.
>
If you'd like to help support the Clifton Park Wellness Crawl in any way, that would be appreciated.
>
You'll get full credit in any promotional material produced for the event.
>
Sponsorships are a possibility. What do you have in mind?
>
This is the first Wellness Crawl in Clifton Park and we're open to any and all suggestions.
