It's likely you're here because you heard about my most recent "rejection challenge".
.
I started on July 30, 2026 and my goal is to get rejected 1000 times by NOvember 1, 2026.
.
My first "rejection challenge" was 7 years ago from June-August 2019.  I called it my "Summer of A Thousand NOs".
.
I decided on this challenge because I got a NO on July 30th that stung.
.

I filled out an application to be on a podcast… I thought it was a good fit… It would be entertaining and informative.
.

I filled out the calendar invite to have a 20 minute pre-interview.
.

Five minutes later, I got a “notice of meeting cancellation“ email and a nice note from the host saying he didn’t think it would be a good fit.
.

That stung and I recalled that back in the summer of 2019, I would’ve been glad to get that email because it would’ve gotten me closer to my 1000 NOs.
.

Obviously, I’ve gotten soft so it’s time for another rejection challenge of 1000 NOs before November 1.
.

Back in 2019 I was doing a lot more in-person networking than I do now and I wore this chalk board name tag with an updated number.

As with last time, the goal for this thousand will mostly be designed to move my business ahead....CollabLocal.com
.
I help small businesses with their marketing and recently I've been focused on helping small, local business set up collaborations with non-competing businesses in their area.
.
So some of my rejections will come from organizations who have small business owners as members...chambers of commerce and local business associations for example.
.
I will be asking them if I can present my workshop to their members:  "How To Pay For Advertising Only If It Works".
.
Some rejections will come from podcasters who I will be asking if I can talk about the same subject.
.
Some rejections will come from people who play Santa Claus?  Yup!
.
Some rejections will come from podcasters who I will be asking if they want to talk about this challenge.
.
In 2019 I was interviewed on about 15 different podcasts and some twice because several wanted to talk to me at the end of the challenge also.  Links to some of those podcasts are below.
